Addes new commands

BIM

With the goal of making Power Path and the development of BIM projects for power lines as flexible and user-friendly as possible when adding custom attributes and BIM properties, we have added new functionalities to the BIM tools group. Now, V25 enables users to add, delete, or edit user-defined BIM attributes, property sets and classifications on power line elements as well as other components.

Under the ribbon panel group BIM, the following commands have been added.

Add or Edit BIM Property Sets

These commands allow you to add or edit property sets for selected objects in the drawing:

- Add Power Line Property Sets

Description: Adds predefined property sets and classifies entities (for supports, insulators, conductors, alignments, surfaces) to selected objects or power lines in the drawing.

- Edit BIM Properties

Description: Manages user‐defined (or system generated) property sets associated with objects such as Supports, Conductors, and Insulators. Enables creating, editing, reordering, and removing these property sets and their definitions.

Classification or unclassification of selected objects

These commands allow you to manually classify or un-classify selected objects in the drawing:

- Classify Manually

Description: Manually assigns classification to selected objects, to a specific building or infrastructure enabling them to be recognized as BIM elements (e.g., walls, columns, or custom categories).

- Unclassify Manually

Description: Removes classification from a selected object or building

Add WMS Data

We have added new command Add WMS Data to the Geospatial Data tools group.

Description: Creates or edits connections to external map services (such as WMS), letting you bring in geospatial imagery or mapping data into your drawing.

Upgraded or/and extended existing commands and functionalities for power line design

- Project Explorer

3D model previews are now possible from Project Explorer. Users can the Preview 3D model option by right clicking on support and insulator data models.

- IFC Export

Upgraded command for exporting selected power line entities or entire power lines and surfaces from the current project.

- Load Online Maps

Added support for loading OpenStreetMap and ESRI Basemaps. Now, various online maps can be used.

- Create Surface From Points/Polylines

Added the ability to create TIN surface from Contours and Mesh (including Polyface Mesh) entities.

- Create Surface From Point Cloud

Upgraded command: now possible to create a TIN surface from a cropped section of a Point Cloud.

- Edit Surface

Upgraded command with the options for Minimize Flat Areas, Remove Elevations and Smoothing. Users can now redefine flat areas, smooth TIN surfaces, or remove points above/below a defined elevation. Additional dialog boxes have been added for Add Point Groups, Add Breaklines, Add Boundaries, Remove Outer Edges, and Remove Elevations.

- Create Surface From File

Now supports TIN surface creation from point files with UTF-8-BOM encoding.

- Civil Points Import

Improved command for better performance when importing large civil point files. The dialog box has been improved, and new point file formats have been added.

Upgraded or/and extended other existing commands and functionalities

- IFC Import

The command is improved with the ability of importing. ifczip file.

- Print

Upgraded command with the ability for print (export) project in BMP, PNG, JPG and TIFF formats. Print as PDF is improved with option for creating PDF bookmarkers.

- Import

Supported import of the Trimble SketchUp (SKP) 2023 and 2024 files.

RFA (Autodesk Revit Family) import now supports selecting a specific family type

- IFC Import

IFC importing now includes a dialog box with BIM data import settings. To facilitate managing and filtering BIM data, users can choose import profiles, filters, and model origins.

- Import Civil 3D

For smoothly exchanging Autodesk Civil 3D and Power Path entities, this command is upgraded to support importing Civil 3D entities (surfaces, alignments, pipes). It is possible to import Civil 3D .dwg file, or directly open and convert Civil 3D entities.

- Attach Point Cloud

Preprocessing and attaching point cloud data is now significantly faster. The display preview has been improved, and additional point cloud formats are now supported: Z+F point cloud format (.zfs), Leica point cloud format (.lgsx), Riegl point cloud format (*.rsp and *.rdbx), HSPC point cloud format (.hspc.pack). If the user has any other file formats of the point cloud, it could be also imported but points need to be in ASCII encoding format with defined delimiter. In that case Point Cloud Custom File Format panel will open for preview and set data for importing.

- Color Map Point Cloud

New color stylization options: Object and Classification. Users can now preview point clouds as classified points. For Elevation and Intensity stylization, a Range option has been added, allowing users to define minimum and maximum values.

- Point Cloud Manager

Point Cloud Manager panel has been upgraded with Render Settings for additional customization.

- Attach Point Cloud

Point Cloud reference path of the point cloud can now be changed in the Attachments Panel.

- Viewports

Now supports different visual styles for each viewport when using multiple viewports.

Fixed existing commands and functionalities

- IFC Export

Fixed units for orientation and temperature in IFC record (.ifc file).

- Add or Edit Weather Conditions

When users define temperature above 0° C, Ice load options and parameters are now disabled.

- Create Power Line Profile

Fixed profile view scaling. The profile view will now be drawn correctly even if only the offset terrain profile or safety height profile is enabled.

- Create Quantity Report

Fixed translations in the Quantity report.

- Extract From Surface

Fixed issue where incorrect 3D solids were created between two TIN surfaces (which also represent the volume between them).

Improved user interface

The Start Page has been optimized for better visibility and preview of previously used files. The ribbon is no longer loaded by default.

Power Path® user interface has been improved for a better user experience. Ribbon and Panels include various improvements. A searching command (Ribbon Search) and base interface settings (Interface Settings) have been added to the top right ribbon corner of the ribbon. A new and improved Status bar is available (for using run command USENEWSTATUSBAR). If you want additional customization of the workspace (including Ribbons and Panels), run the command CUSTOMIZE.

Optimized creation and preview of large TIN surfaces and point clouds from different input data. Editing and managing surfaces and point clouds has been improved.

Enriched support libraries with new data models of the poles.

License Manager has been upgraded to a newer version.
