Loads online hybrid, aerial and/or road map
This command is used to insert a map into a drawing from an online map service. This feature enhances a drawing by providing a raster image of the geographic location from OpenStreetMaps, Esri Maps or Bing Maps.
- Invokes the map service to bring a live map into the current drawing session.
- User needs to have the Bing Maps key or ESRI Maps key, for using these services, while for OpenStreetMaps user doesn't need a key. If you want to use Bing Maps or Esri Maps, get the map key and insert in GEOMAPKEY. For detailed instruction please read instruction for command GEOMAPKEY. For using OpenStreetMaps user doesn't need key and it is free for using. Once entered, the key is saved
- Enables the selection of map types, regarding used map service.
- The map is linked to the drawing's geographic location, providing accurate and meaningful context for design projects.
- The command is especially useful for urban planning, landscape design, and site analysis where geographic reference is crucial.
- Requires an internet connection to fetch map data from the online map service.
Before use this command, you need to have a saved drawing and a defined geographic location. To set Geographic Location use the GEO command.
